The 2007 Rickrolling meme tricked people into watching the huge 1987 hit Never Gonna Give You Up by the then global superstar Rick Astley. Rapidly, Astley shot from post 80s obscurity to stardom once more, appearing at parades and parties across the US and UK. How powerful does that make meme culture?!
